My husband always says that EVERYDAY should be Valentines day.
And you know what?
He is not your typical "NO romance in the bones" kind of guy.
He often will come home with flowers for me just because. Someone comes over and sees the lovely bouquet and asks "What is the occasion?" "There is none." I reply.
AND YES! Yes, he writes me little love letters too.
He compliments me at least five times in the day (no exaggeration).
AND to be honest, he has been like this for a while now.....
WAY BACK to our dating years!
We have been married 13 years this year!
When He first met me he was NOT a runner at all!
Guess what he did as a surprise??
He trained for like 6 months to run around the WHOLE seawall with me!!!
He did this secretively too!
Now that is determination and dedication!
BUT... I had to learn computers too!
Just look above...now, don't I look happy?
When Valentine's Day comes along, I love to hear what people do and how some ladies get VERY upset when their man does not 'PULL THROUGH'.
I don't expect a lot really.
I just like being together.
I am not a 'FLOWER' kind of girl.
I don't need a box of chocolates.
I don't need a trip to Paris.
I just like knowing that my husband STILL treats EVERY DAY like it is VALENTINE'S DAY.
So, the fact of the matter is.......
Nothing will be different on VALENTINE'S DAY....
Oh, wait; maybe it will be different....
Because wives will be expecting something different on that day... something unusual.
They might tell me of the great things that happened on that ONE DAY of the year.
And I will reply: "Oh, that happens every day in our house!"

Oh... you guys are sooooo cuuuuute!!!!
So sweet, Lora! It's wonderful to hear of happy marriages. And, here's to many more years!!!
Happy Valentines Day! He has had one fantastic model. I am one lucky lady also. We need to continue to cherish this forever, Lora, my friend.
WAAAAHHHHH!!!
sigh.
Now that I'm done my cry...I'm happy that there is that kind of love still left in this world.
Okay, I have to admit something. Sometimes I come over here to your blog not to check if you've written anything, but to stare at your awesome muscles in your "about Lora" section. Your legs! They're incredible! It makes sense, of course, you speeedy girl you, that you'd have muscles like that. Muscles are so cool.
Thanks for the stroke of my ego! BUT - Be careful of what you wish for Tracey. It's always greener on the other side-of-the-fence. If only it was as simple as making every day so special, as Lora writes. And I do try, but...
This makes me think of the childrens' Disney movie, Mickey's First Christmas, where Donald Duck's 3 ducklings wish it were Christmas everyday. SO - They wish upon a star, and their wish comes true! Every day they wake-up to Christmas; and you want to know what they eventually find?
Boredome & Apathy!
-An emotional state experienced during repetitive, predictable activities and suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation and passion!
Yeah; even I learn things after 13 years! Here's to the next 50+, God Willing! I love you Lora - and to the others, think about this post & my response.
