So here I am sitting here with my reward:
A big ol' oatmeal muffin and a coffee.
But I had to work for it.
It all started last night.
My friend calls me on the phone and says:
"So I have decided just to do half of the cultus Lake trail race."
Wanna be my partner?
I have not planned to do this race, really.
It is hard; it is about 15km (3o total) through terrain that I am unaccustomed to.
"We should decide, because they are having a training run in the morning.....
wanna come?"My friend asks me with enthusiasm.
Hmmmm...If you know anything about me...I am not a risk taker.
I like routine; I like running my same 10km route.
I don't tend to try new runs, unless accompanied by someone I know.
Even then, I worry and stress out.
That is why running with people is good for me.
It inspires me; it helps me become a better runner-mentally and hopefully physically.
So on a whim, I said "OK what the heck-let's do it!"
We were supposed to meet the running group at 8 oclock in the pizza place parking lot.
We pull up- at 8 on the dot....
No one is even there..
We see one guy dart out of his car.
"Oh, they left already." He says.
So, here we are running as fast as we can to get to the group who is running up the mountain.
We caught them, and chuckled a bit, because usually when people meet to run...
EVERYONE seems to be late. Not today.
There was a big turnout today. Lots of different paces with different faces.
Some came to conquer the whole thing and some came just to do half and drive back.
But, it was a good workout;I am not gonna lie.
I think some of the down hill was worse than the uphill.
Yah, my friend has been hinting for me to be her partner for the last two months.
To be honest, I thought that she would do the whole thing herself. So I opted out of it.
After all, she did this same race two years ago- And she ran the whole thing by herself.
And she got like second overall or something like that.
So to make a long story short, We ran most of the whole route.
Minus about 3 t0 4km of hilly terrain.
We ducked out of the last part and took the road and beachfront back to the truck.
And I stretched, and I stretched some more.
Yep, I will be sore tomorrow.
Yep, I actually enjoyed it.
Yep, I am crazy.

Hello there. I was sent over by Levi's grandmother. You make running sound so FUN. I should try it more often...mostly I walk...or hike. And sometimes dirt bike.
I have two boys too. Except now they are 22 and 18. I still worry about them quite a bit. And pray unceasingly! It's wonderful to be a mom of boys!
I'm afraid...
