Pump Up The Volume

Silas loves to copy daddy.
He walks around with daddy's earphones pretending he is listening to music.
He does not realize that he needs to plug them in.
He does not realize that once he plugs them in, he can adjust the volume-
He can escape to new lands, hear the waves crashing up on the shore,
And listen to the voice of wisdom.

Am I plugged in?
Can I truly hear the voice of God when He speaks.
And where is the volume control? Why is His voice so quiet?
Oh, and where is the pause button,
Cause I really don't want to have to struggle through life's circumstances.
The rewind button would come in handy right about now,
Cause I know that I would love to fix some of my past mistakes.
Fast forward button? I want to live in the now.
I want to take all the moments with my boys and bottle them up,
And let them sit and age like the choicest of reserve wines.
I want to record every single waking hour I have with my family never to be erased.
Live my life on play without worrying about the occasional skips.
And trust in the voice of wisdom, that only comes about by being plugged in.
